Today is officially the first day of school for Drew and Tiffany. It’s the first day of the new routine in their new life. My task is to take care of Ellie and navigate the newness of it all with them.
I’ve learned I’m healthier when I make the decision to live new each day, taking nothing for granted, refocusing on what’s before me with a fresh perspective and an anticipation for what more God has. The key is seeing myself made new each day through Christ’s ongoing work of transformation in me.
To live new each day, there needs to be an understanding that God is not about fixing but about transforming. The transformation process begins when the decision is made to belong to Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says it:
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (2 Corinthians 5:17, NLT)
New defines the with-God life.
Thank God for new.
We went on an evening walk last night–
