When God opens the door, there are those who hold the door for others.  Door-holders have been present in every significant event of my life.  I would not be a part of starting The Red Door Community Church, if, it weren’t for the door-holders.
This generation needs door-holders. It’s often a behind the scenes and thankless role to fill. Yet.  Vital.
The generous people throughout time who’ve willingly held the door for someone are unselfish-brave-world-changers.  The thing is . . . life can be difficult on a daily basis and while it would be easier not to talk about it  . . . and, there are some big-deal things in this world that are beyond difficult.  Door-holders, the ones who have walked through the God’s open door of love, hope, peace, change the way challenges are managed.
One of my door-holders held Lamentations 3 as daily truth:
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
    his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness (22,23, ESV).
This verse gave me peace in the most stressful moments of life because the door was held wide open for me to see:
1.  Nothing is more powerful than the steadfast love of God.  Nothing.
2.  Every day is new with God’s never-ending mercy.
3.  God is always faithful.  Always.
In the end, God is revealed when someone holds the door open.  And.  The world changes.
Together–we can change the world by holding the door open.
