Change The Day. Change The World.

The Red Door Community Church threw a party on Good Friday, my birthday.  Though our launch is not until 9.13.15–we are working to spread the word, to find people to pray, and to invite people to be a part of the great adventure of starting a church!

The thing about having a party on my birthday was that I had the assignment to enjoy myself.  So.  I did. I enjoyed getting ready, anticipating all that was come.  And.  Most of all, I enjoyed all the people that came throughout the day and evening. We had set the time from 3:00-7:30 PM–so people could come and go.  But.  We did not end until after 11 PM.  It’s how great parties go . . . no one wants to leave . . . everyone wants to stay.

Pastor Kathy Togstad  and I shared one minute devotions, making sure that we stayed in our minute time frame, keeping to the message of being blessed because of Christ. An all important value of The Red Door Community Church is:

Change the day.  Be blessed.  Change the world.  Bless.

Years ago, I took time to study what blessed meant from God’s word.  At the end of it all, I came up with the simple definition of blessed: “to know the activity of God.”  So.  When we bless others, we are a part of the activity of God.  How cool is that?  After each devotion, we prayed a blessing over the group. And, then we gave out Red Door prizes, $5 to bless others.

There we were, six months before launch, celebrating, enjoying one another, blessed.

I pray you will join in,  wherever you are today, whatever your circumstance, whenever you get a chance, to focus on what it means to be blessed and in turn, bless someone, engaging with the activity of God.

Change the day.  Be blessed.  Change the world.  Bless.
