I spent most of the day on the road yesterday and will do so again today. Mountains, wide open fields, rivers, lakes, and the sea provided the backdrop for the day. Amazing. Awesome. Powerful.
As I drove surrounded by the breath-taking beauty, I thought about the best advice I’ve ever heard a doctor say, “Go live.”
And. I thought about what the words mean.
Be active. Move forward. Refuse to be complacent or bitter. Choose to live the best way possible regardless of whatever comes.
Experience life with purpose and passion, focusing on what matters, seeking God first, facing what needs to be faced with fierce faith all for the sake of Christ.
Years ago, when I was a teenager, my family and I were invited with other families to spend a weekend with Corrie ten Boom, which I’ve mentioned millions of times because she impacted my life with her passion for Christ. She said the words she lived by were from Galatians 2:20:
“Not I, but Christ.”
I’ve tried to keep those four words in front of me ever since. When you get down to it, they hold the power behind words like, “Go live.”
So, I give you this blessing of living that I give to all :
Christ . . . in you.
Christ . . . through you.
Christ . . . over you.
Christ . . . under you.
Christ . . . around you.
