Peace is easy to miss in the stress and pressure of the day.
But. Yesterday, I was inspired by the power of the peace of Christ visibly present in a friend I visited. My friend faces big challenges every day. Words like brave, bold, and courageous quickly comes to mind. And. The most evident and powerful of everything is the peace that dwells within, defines conversation, and infuses the atmosphere.
Seriously, when I went out the door after our visit, I was inspired to live more intentionally in the realm of Christ’s peace. It made me realize how there are times I let stress and pressure move in without hardly thinking about it, allowing it all to take precedence over the peace Christ offers.
I’m convinced both stress and peace are contagious. It’s a choice to spread stress or peace in our homes, work place, neighborhoods, and beyond. Go anywhere and it’s much more common to see people have a stress reaction rather than to respond in peace. This stressed-out pressured world needs an infusion of peace.
At the end of the day, the presence or lack of peace gives insight to how life has been managed. Peace produces well-being, which is a gift from God, one that we are invited to experience through Christ. Acts 10:36 says it all: You already know that God sent a message to the people of Israel; it was a message of peace, peace through Jesus the Anointed—who is King of all people (The Voice).
Christ is present in peace.
- It requires an intentional attitude and action to receive and live in the peace of Christ each day.
- And. Those who live in the peace of Christ have the daily opportunity to offer it to others–in attitude, words, actions, and even in the atmosphere.
Step into the realm of peace Christ offers. Receive Christ’s peace. Live in Christ’s peace. Offer Christ’s peace.
Infuse your world with the peace of Christ–Kerrie
