I’m surprised that Gregg and I moved.
Neither one of us planned to do it.
The details worked out beyond what we could have ever done on our own in the midst of some difficult circumstances. I’m not a fan of making big changes when life is challenging. Yet. It was clear that we needed to take the leap and move.
Our limitations in the challenging times did not deter God from putting incredible details together in the midst of it all. The pathway opened up like the Red Sea of the ancient days (Exodus 12).
It’s still surprising.
People often tell me they don’t want to give up their fun to live the with-God life. Here’s the thing:
Our plans are completely boring compared to God’s plan. God always gives surprising good and perfect gifts– beyond what we could ever think, ask, or imagine. And. God’s gifts never stop impacting life.
It’s what James wrote about in his book: Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow (James 1:17, NLT).
Refuse to get stuck in the way you want life to be. Instead, be ready to go for the surprising plan of God in the midst of all that must be managed. There’s always more to come!
