I Want Your Life

Life is so interesting.  Just when I have my life figured out, something unexpected happens.  Of course, this doesn’t happen to those who have a “perfect” life.  Right?

Only Jesus really knows  how long I tried to make all things perfect in my life.

The thing is . . . it often seems like there are more people than ever  . . .  who have a “perfect” life.

Thank you social-media.

It’s easy to want to have someone’s “perfect” life.   It just looks so good and beautiful.

I can assure you– anybody and everybody is confronted with the imperfect in this world.  I’ve learned this fact by  walking alongside of many people throughout the years as a pastor.  It might look good from the outside, but when the door opens there’s been or is a pathway of hard.

What they have or don’t have is not the point when it comes to valuing our own life.  The thing is . . .  life . . . is a gift, regardless of the challenges set before us.  Each of us have received a lifetime opportunity to live the best life.  The best life is living in relationship with God and one another.  It’s where perfection can be found.

Perfection is love.

I pray all, including our “fabulous five” ( number five is coming this fall), learn the perfection of life is loving God, one another, and everyone.

Perspective of perfection is key.

Of course, sometimes the imperfect gets in the way.    If, we aren’t attentive the imperfect will own and enslave a piece of our life, preventing  us from experiencing a full relationship with God and one another.

My go-to are these ancient words of never-ending truth:

Exodus 14:13-14

Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still” (NIV).

These words underline the love God has for you and I.  Think about it.  God will fight to break off the things that don’t belong in your life, providing a pathway to experience perfection, which is love— Kerrie
